Turn your sample library into drum grooves

Most producers own thousands of drum samples and use the same twenty. Picking sounds one by one is slow and kills ideas. FURROW reads your folders, sorts the sounds and builds a new kit and groove every time you ask.

Add your folders once

On the SAMPLE EDITOR page press + FOLDER and add the folders where you keep drums. FURROW scans them and sorts every file by itself, keeping bass, synth and full-mix files out of the kit. Your library stays where it is; nothing is copied or moved.

New kit and new groove in one click

In the top bar choose MY LIBRARY instead of KEEP SAMPLES. Now every GENERATE picks kicks, hats, claps and percussion from your own folders at random and writes a groove in the chosen style. Right-click GENERATE to choose either way just once. SOUNDS sets how many lanes are filled, from five to ten.

Keep the sounds you love

Found the perfect kick? Use the lane's LOCK to keep its sound, then generate again. Lanes whose sound type you chose yourself keep that type. To try another sample of the same kind on one lane, use DICE SOUND.

Or drop in the exact samples

Drag any sample from your browser onto a lane. You can also drop a whole drum loop on LOOP SLICER, which cuts it at every hit so its sounds become a kit.

Borrow a groove's feel from audio

Drop a favourite loop on the GROOVE panel, set TIMING to 100% and ACCENT to around 70%, and press BUILD FROM IT. FURROW takes the timing and accents and writes a new groove with them; edit by hand and press REGROOVE.

It learns what you keep

On day one FURROW seeds itself from the drum loops in your own library. After that, every groove you drag into your song, archive or regroove teaches it your habits: where you place hits, your accents, timing and swing. The MINE style then writes in that language. What it learns stays on your computer.

Export

Drag the full loop, the MIDI or any single lane into your song as WAV or MIDI, or use the ten stereo lane outputs to mix every part separately. The ARCHIVE keeps the grooves you want to come back to.
